DANNY T + CHRIS JAMES!

Despite been the most post about artist in the Fridge, its been awhile between yabber's for local hero Danny T. Busier than ever with remixing, original work and showing his face at clubs around Australia, it's more than necessary we give him a shout for old times sake!

His most recent release, out on One Love, comes in the form of Hustlin' - a collaborative effort with fellow DJ/producer and long time friend Chris James. The title track takes the sound Danny has stayed 'oh so true' to, adds a spice of familiar vocals, layers some catchy drums, an awesome catchy synth and pushes out as an all round addictive track suitable for a massive array of dance floors. It's no surprise the effort has landed in the Aria charts, with the EP inclusive of Malente & Oliver $ remixes. Amazing? Yes. Surprising? No. Check out the low quality samples Danny sent over below, and when you realise that even our description didn't do this EP justice, follow this link and purchase it on Beatport!

A German New Years?

In the prior few months, the hotspots around town would have spent their days trying to fork out enough to entice a major Australian or international act to spend the opening hours of 2009 winding into a new beat at their club. Monastery managed to lay down the law pretty early, signing German DJ and producer Malente to rock the yearly spectacle. With all his wobble and fidget experience, I can see him fitting in perfectly with the crowd and giving Monastery their moneys worth. Brisbane fans definitely have something to look forward to, with his sound described as bassline-driven electro - straight pumpin' dirty filth with that positive Malente vibe. His german club experience has allowed the release of four albums via Unique Records, amounting a number of remixes and regularly posting re-edits on Berlin Battery.

I picked up this track a few days ago. Each week he throws out re-edits, all of equally high quality. This song especially inspired me to stay in town on new years and head to Monastery. I think new years would kick off pretty well around the 0:58 mark.

Malente Goodness (ITM)

Each week, In The Mix (ITM) happily provides a temporary download link to consistently promising offerings from selected Australian and international DJ's. In turn, I will funnel all the 'goodys' out and present them here. I previously made a post on Bag Raiders which provided a link to 'Shooting Stars', a track available via the ITM download feature. Just remember, I use the ITM link, so the links will be consistent and only last for one week, aka be quick and check back.

ITM Weekly Offering - Malente Goodness

This week, ITM gave a shout out to German producer/DJ Malente by showcasing his latest electro-tech touch up on the already established Stupid Fresh hit, 'Get the Fuck up'. Malente (named after the small German town he was born in), via Unique Records, has managed to push out 5 albums while maintaining a noteworthy international touring schedule. His remix of 'Get the Fuck up' proves his fan base has a reason to be loyal, with all the dirty electro he has developed nicely panned out through the song (yeh... wait for the edgy climax). While Stupid Fresh did no wrong in their original masterpiece, Malente adds some electronic attitude to the song, just perfect for the dancefloor. Check that shit and click on the pictures for their respective pages.

P.s - on the topic of Stupid Fresh, check out 'Spam Javelin'... here, its worth it!
Hurry.
