Tom EQ

You can check the other blogs to hear a genre based rundown on what Tom EQ produces, but from the man himself? "It's music for the dancefloor that doesn't take itself too seriously". We like that, and we have always liked his tunes, so you can imagine the grin when we noticed he'd shot us some mail with a few audible goodies attached.

For a brief history lesson I'll take pleasure in spitting you five fast facts;

(1) Tom EQ is from the United Kingdom, (2) He has releases on Wearhouse Records, Jack Union, Ho-Ju Records and many more, (3) He makes music that tells his neighbors to fuck off, (4) He won the European DJoust Championship in 2008, beating over 500 DJs and (5), Tom has a new EP for Jack Union Records nearing!

As we raved about before, we have a couple of tunes adequate to satisfy those music taste buds until you can get his latest EP in your mits. See if his remix of VonStroke's 'Vocal Chords' tickles your fancy, perhaps his edit of Switch's famed remix of 'Something On Your Mind'? Even try his remix for Lithuania duo Aout 6 where he serves up a pretty tasty and very tech-heavy tune! Still not a satisfied addict? Fine, there's a few more bonus tunes sourced from Tom EQ's older free range work. Just remember, if you like them be sure to throw your money at his Beatport catalouge here and shoot him some love right here or over there.

Adventures With Wongo :: Volume #1

Reader Discression is advised... Bit late?

Ladies... Gentleman... Wongo here.

I thought the best way to introduce my "Rantus" is by labeling my favourite body part of the month, "The Labia Majora". This part has been known as many things over the past centuries, including "the side bit", "the greek tickler" & also the "ferret sniff". Maybe I have just made all that up but i think it's time for the male race to take back whats ours!

My now Monthly Phunkers event on the Gold Coast will be absolutely FILLED with some Labia Majora. To be honest, I was almost gonna change the name of the night but thought that the Government would try and shut me down. DON'T get me started on the government, that will be next months rantus maybe.

Phunkers will be at The Ruby Tramp, located in Surfers Paradise on the 25th of September. I purposely put it the day before Parklife because I knew I'd get a bigger turn out than a few thousand. So come in early to get your taste of that sweet sweeeeeeet Labia Majora. Headlining this month will be Danny T, the now no #9 ITM "Dj" in Australia (I sware we are also best mates), then Johnny Rad who is one of the head honchos at MOS/Hussle Australia. He will bring some Labia Majoras to a stop FO SHO! Next up we have WIll Jax a young west coast DJ from Adelaide who's been releasing some quality deep house and shiz nit. its gonna be hectizzle for shizzle.

FUCK I'M LATE FOR WORK NOW. Here's a toooone for ya'll, did up this little edit while I was on a plane somewhere, Just beefed it up.

Poligono

Upon taking a visit across to one of my regular and knowledgeable read-ups;Electric Zoo, I stumbled across the EP launch of one of Jack Union's newest additions Poligono. This mexican mad man has got to be close to one of the world's best kept secrets as his productions are nothing short of technically astonishing. In "Caguama Noise", Poligono has combined his signature vocal and (what I could only presume to be) typewriter clips with bouncy Beethoven-esque Basoon concerto passages. That bouncy mid is really addictive and you will probably inadvertently find yourself keeping the song on repeat. Poli's next release will be coming out later this month on Dubnoir with remixes by Chris James and Tom EQ. Previews and a Poligono mixtape can be found on the labels Myspace page. Once again, I must thank the boys over at Electric Zoo for making these 128kb tasters below available for your ears. They've always got fresh stuff popping up so make sure you check them out. The full 320kbs EP can be purchased via Beatport.

Happy Listening!
