MONDAY MORNING

Like many of our posts, today's will follow very little structure, chopping and changing like a Surecut Kids set if you must. We like it that way, do you?

The reason rise of underground DJ's remixing commercial tunes is about as prominent as the increase in DJ/hip hop collaborations. Perhaps its the anti-mainstreams way of reaching a new target audience, or even just a way for lesser known producers to prove they can better what the 'stars' do. Either way, we feel its a very 'swing or miss' situation, so when Bassjackers and Apster took on the role of remixing NERD's highly popular 'Everyone Nose' tune, eagerness set in. Turns out they did it right. Should we be surprised? No.

Once again we bring you a few offerings from our good mates over at Brain Matters. Like always, we don't really care if its Brain Matters, Benson or Northie - you know anything thats sent from their neck of the woods oozes quality. This time we've got Bensons take on the very interesting and comical 'Men In Black' tune by Will Smith. It's a cool bootleg he knocked up for a set in Melbourne the other weekend, needless to say it would have gone down a treat! The latter of the two is a Brain Matters take on the highly popular 'Parlez Vou Francais' tune by Art vs Science. To be honest, while we love the Hey Now remix, it's pretty damn refreshing to hear an alternate version for once! You'll love both these tunes so hit download and thank the boys for providing you with yet another serving of audible goodness!

While these two tunes definitely don't fall under our usual style, we thought we should post them for all the tech and prog heads out there. They are both full, well produced tracks the incorporate a range of samples and synths - providing catchy and polished final production efforts. They were sent over to us by 'Its a promo thing' and we have to thank the guys for all the tracks they send us week in week out. Hope you enjoy the unique sound, and if your feeling it, be sure to nab the EP on Beatport!

Bonus?

BENSON!!

You've heard us chat about Benson before. Not only is he one prime-cut half of Brain Matters, but he's also prominent on his own behind the decks, with his alter-ego Benson throwing plenty of whirlwinds around the place. The crazy kid also knows a thing or two about production, a statement that can easily be justified by what we are about to show you!

Having just signed with new kids on the block 'Trouble Artist Agency', Benson is on the back of a stellar 2009 and is already proving 2010 is set to be bigger. Recently setting his sits on Aria Chart topper ''Out My Bitch', he's made a bang with his first bootleg for the new year, gaining support from none other than T-Rek himself just hours after completing it! To go even further, the peak time bootleg has gained nod's and smiles from our very own Danny T, The Hump Day Project and our favourites from Adelaide, Loot & Plunder - pretty huge huh? Just for good measure, Benson has also thrown in a few bonus tunes to calm your monday-itis, making him the quite easily the friendliest Benson in the world. Enjoy!

BONUS~

Brain Matters. It Does.

Well haven't we been shit lately. Don't worry, it's in our minds and its playing tricks on our heart, but uni finals sucked by the way. Consider this post the beginning of our 5 part reconciliation. With a tonne to catch up on and an overflowing inbox, ill give you a few tasters now to settler your stomach. Watch out for Adam Bozzetto's post, a bunch of sweet EP features, a few mixtapes and a bunch more, all very soon!

For now, let us chat about the Brain Matters DJ's. Legend has it they formed in a club when their output levels found a completely harmonic state - what's that even mean? Hmm maybe we made that up. Anyway, Northie and Benson make up the crazy duo, and you all know how much we love those guys. We raved about Northie a month or two ago and gave you a bunch of his tunes, but consider this post further insight into the crazy life that kid lives! This time round the two conjured up a crazy remix of Hey Now's tune 'Bring That' which can't go down anything other than a treat. The links to praise the two are scattered around the post so be a motivated citizen and following them up with some feedback!

Hey Now - Bring That (Brain Matters Remix)
