MONDAY MORNING

Like many of our posts, today's will follow very little structure, chopping and changing like a Surecut Kids set if you must. We like it that way, do you?

The reason rise of underground DJ's remixing commercial tunes is about as prominent as the increase in DJ/hip hop collaborations. Perhaps its the anti-mainstreams way of reaching a new target audience, or even just a way for lesser known producers to prove they can better what the 'stars' do. Either way, we feel its a very 'swing or miss' situation, so when Bassjackers and Apster took on the role of remixing NERD's highly popular 'Everyone Nose' tune, eagerness set in. Turns out they did it right. Should we be surprised? No.

Once again we bring you a few offerings from our good mates over at Brain Matters. Like always, we don't really care if its Brain Matters, Benson or Northie - you know anything thats sent from their neck of the woods oozes quality. This time we've got Bensons take on the very interesting and comical 'Men In Black' tune by Will Smith. It's a cool bootleg he knocked up for a set in Melbourne the other weekend, needless to say it would have gone down a treat! The latter of the two is a Brain Matters take on the highly popular 'Parlez Vou Francais' tune by Art vs Science. To be honest, while we love the Hey Now remix, it's pretty damn refreshing to hear an alternate version for once! You'll love both these tunes so hit download and thank the boys for providing you with yet another serving of audible goodness!

While these two tunes definitely don't fall under our usual style, we thought we should post them for all the tech and prog heads out there. They are both full, well produced tracks the incorporate a range of samples and synths - providing catchy and polished final production efforts. They were sent over to us by 'Its a promo thing' and we have to thank the guys for all the tracks they send us week in week out. Hope you enjoy the unique sound, and if your feeling it, be sure to nab the EP on Beatport!

Bonus?

... THEN THERE WAS FOUR

We run a tight ship here at Fridgejet. Since mid 2008 when we first opened our doors and offered artists and agencies a place to keep their tunes fresh, only three people have had a say in what goes on. Why? Keeping this place personal is essential in making sure we dictate what you receive - something we would like to think Fridgejet does pretty well.

So what did it take for us to lay down the gauntlet and open our frosty doors to a fourth (and dare we say final) contributor for the remainder of 2010? We could make up a fancy and long winded story, but when it comes down to it, a likeminded appreciation for music and an obvious interest in what we do was all he needed. He currently resides in London, has a fondness for almost every style of club music, loves spending his time chatting to big name DJ/producers, has roots in Australia and knows how to have a good time. On the flipside, he hates trance, punters who need crazy disco biscuits to appreciate music, people who don't pull their weight and all things Myspace. He's partied in clubs all around the world and holds a true patron perspective on most of the big name DJ's playing in clubs today. Besides this knowledge, he's laid back, easy going and very approachable, something his stature would not necessarily suggest. HE also has a name, Adam, and we're happy to welcome him to the team. We hope he serves you well :)

Guess you deserve some tunes after all that?
