Potty Mouth Music is bringing the bass back home on its latest EP with a three-track trek through some of dance music's most infectious grooves of the season. This time, it's Chicago's own DJ Bam Bam making heads bob on his "Big Bass EP" - an uptempo romp of swinging drums, vocal stabs and layered synths that strike both a fun and funky chord on the dance floor. Los Angeles' own Whiskey Pete and Chicago's Alex Peace lend vocal support, while fellow Potty Mouth artist Kelevra puts a dance anthem spin on Bam's title track. The end result is a clever compilation of cone-blowing bass that also twists with lyrical bliss.

For Bam, collaborating with long time friend and creative partner Alex Peace helped put a lighter spin on his bass-heavy PMM debut. "Anytime Alex and I get in the studio, it's nothing but fun and laughs, which makes making music together so easy and fun" Says Bam, who also incorporated swing drums to add even more energy to the EP - "Big Bass definitely reflects the process".

Some labels can spend the most part of a year establishing themselves as anything other than throw away rubbish. Seems Big Poppa Records dove head first in the deep end in regards to earning their rights and boy, isn't it starting to pay off! Potty Mouth Records, for those of you who haven't heard us rave about them time and time before, are a collective of (in our opinion) the best artist in the world. The likes of Santiago & Bushido, Electric Soulside, Kelevra, Chris James & Lee Dearn and Australia's very own Adam Bozzetto all hold residency with the label - making it one of the most recognised music labels in the world. Further more, they have decided to send two of their troopers into battle at the Monastery this Friday (3rd of April) and it turns out its none other than Adam Bozzetto (SYD) and Chris James (UK). With Bozzetto banging out a string of highly successful remixes and original efforts, he's become quite the popular guy around town these days, headlining WHAM! and popping his name up at a wide array of national and international gigs. Always the nice guy, he happily sent through two tracks, an original (post-release) and remix (pre-release) just to make sure everyone had a fair idea of why they HAVE to make the trek into Monastery come friday evening. Never the one to dissapoint, Chris James too has had is fair share of success, tearing around the globe and prepping up for his Australian debut this friday. Having developed a very succesful relationship with Lee Dearn, his production efforts have seen him skyrocket upwards. You all would of heard Torcida Cumbia (and the very impressive Mightyfools remix) and his other work does not fall short. FridgeJet's December Christmas 3!

This months top three, while still delivering excellent performances by outstanding artists, may have been a little rushed due to Christmas commitments. That aside, it became evident that artists and producers may have the smallest holidays bar none, considering some of the EP work the UK fidget boys have got coming up (see what Calvertron and Heavyfeet are up to). Heavyfeet claim they are 'entering studio hibernation soon' which is a prize for all of us in the new year. Aside from that, Kelevra (UK again) is also throwing out Christmas cheer having just recently released his Clean Jeans EP via FridgeJets favourite label - Potty Mouth Records. Forget that, more about Kelevra later, here's the top three!

1. The Snipplers - All Around (Supabeatz Remix) (Thanks VoulesRandom)

The Italian boys have been throwing together mixes for awhile and have plenty more to come, but this one caught my ear pretty well. Its racy like a Superbeatz song, its got a catchy sound and never shows any signs of weakness. What's more, the almighty (in my mind) Bloody Beetroots remixed 'Sexo Perfecto', the Supabeatz original - which makes them even better somehow!

Favorite DJ's therefore minimal description required. The Bloody Beetroots distinctive, hard charged sound skyrocketed their worldwide popularity, further enhance by the release of their highly anticipated EP, 'Rombo'. Pushing out remixes of The Kills, Robyn, MSTRKFT and The Crookers scribbled their distinctive style all over the scene and forced people to love them. 'Cornelius' is just what you would expect from a late 2008 EP offering from some of the best DJ's out of Italy (tied with Crookers?). To top it off, Bob Rifo compiled 'The Death of Cornelius', a musical reflection on the creation of the relatively mysteriously produced track (which Techijo went on to remix!). 3. Kelevra & Nathan Boon - Like To Freak (Thanks Redthreat)

Kelevra is absolutely killing it at the moment. I pulled this one from Redthreat after they were kind enough to throw Kelevra's EP up earlier in the month. The EP features remixes from DJ BamBam and Kyle Watson and is a full banger. Not only that, but the UK madman put together an excellent Potty Mouth mixtape, 'Midnight - 6am' (Dec 2008). Killer track selection and Kelevras 'cant fake it' style makes it worth the transfer to CD for a residency in your car.

Honourable Mention:

A mention must go to just one more UK killer, Hijack, who as promised has completed weekly mixes for the last three weeks. His third installment came through two days ago and is one of the better mixtapes I have set on repeat. Surprising considering he's doing them weekly.
