Future Musics Own Hurricane

It’s almost time to get back to the future ladies and gentlemen with Future Music Festival nearly on our doorstep. All that is needed is some loose change and possibly some clothing to make this day incredible.  You won’t be needing the Docs DeLorean and a bolt of lightning to kick start the festival with the like of the Chemical Brothers, Steve Aoki, The Subs and Aussie favorites The Presets; Future Music is sure to wear out the soles of your party boots.

Hailing all the way from Brussels in Belgium is the duo Sound of Stereo, who may not have the following of a headlining act, but they sure can bring the party! They have been making simply breathe-taking energetic dance music for what seems like forever at times. From early on in their career they gained the tick of approval from the green doctor aka Dr. Lektroluv and have since been signed to his outstanding label (Lektroluv Records). The boys have an EP dropping on his label on March 14 entitled “Hurricane”. And in all honesty, with a title like that, there is no need for explanation of what it will do to your ears! Below is a mix they have kindly graced us all with which covers genres than from hard hitting techno to curb stomping electro! The tracklist is somewhat of a mystery which can only mean loads of exclusive bombs and tasty delights from the likes of Harvard Bass to Hey Today and of course a sneak peek at Sound of Stereos new EP. So be sure to grab the mix and the EP on March 14 and give your neighbors a firsthand (and preferably loud) lesson in Sound of Stereo!

FOAMO.NET

To celebrate the launch of his new site, Foamo has unleashed a brand new mixtape. I'm not even going to bother listing all the Foamo mixes that have blown me away over the past few years (we're talking like 5 or more i'd say), because they're always get better and better. When you look at all the track lists, you notice two things. One, they're pretty much guaranteed to be packed full of exclusives and two, if you put every one side by side, it not only shows how Foamo (being his ever eclectic self) brings together a motley crue of any genre you can think of, but also how he has progressed as an artist. Bringing together his age old love for DnB and bassline and splicing it with house and everything in between.
Anyway, this mix carries the trend of every other Foamo has put out, delivering to the highest level. But really, what did you expect?

Prince Tees

Our regal broham-man over at Prince Tees is having a free shindig to celebrate the launch of his new clothing line. Spinning at the soiree will be the residents from Chow Down, who recently welcomed Bok Bok, of Night Slugs label and Rinse FM fame, as the first of many huge artists to throw down at their highly spoke about night. So if you're out and about central Manchester, come and hit it up. I might say hi, if you wave.

Blackwax

I'm just dropping in to give support to Edinburgh based duo Blackwax, who have literally only just come onto my radar in the past couple of weeks, but I am left baffled as to why it's taken so long! Their track Airway has only been featured so far in a tiny snippet on soundcloud but from what I have heard, it is sheer class. Give it a listen below and show them some love on their best of 2010 mix above!

Canblaster - Clockworks Download

Ahed of his second ever EP release 'Master of Complications', on the renowned Nightshifters label, Canblaster has dropped us his brilliant track 'Clockworks'. Canblaster, being his usual unpredictable self, takes everthing from whispering, sulty vocals to ticking clocks to whip up a frenzy of futuristic proportions. The full EP drops on Valentines day, along with a Teki Latex and Paraone remix of Clockworks, so if you're stuck for a gift that truly says 'I love you', why not treat your loved one to the gift of groovy melodic house spliced with a heavy staccato beat? This really is the gift that keeps on giving...I can't stop listening even after like the 20th play today.

I've been going mix happy recently, but I'm sure no one is complaining! I don't know what it is, but this time of year seems to have brought out the best in DJ and producers for mixes. Brenmar and Mele Production Mini Mixes for FACTMAG

Today, Fact Magazine have graced us with the first instalment who they believe to be their top 10 producers to watch in 2011. Not only that, they have also provided us with mini-mixes from each of the artists, which give us an insight into all their new (and mostly unreleased!) productions. So, here's to my two favourites of their choices; mixes and interviews from Brenmar and Melé. This is the second mix within a week we've had from Brenmar, so there is an indication of his ridiculous (seemingly continuous) work flow. As well as Brenmar, Mele has been a favourite of mine for a while too. You can catch my interview from a few months back with him here too!
Otherwise, enjoy these mixes!

Brenmar's Lucky Me Mix

"Daaaamn Brenmar! You nasty!"

Brenmar, one of the pioneers behind the new league of awesome producing talent being pumped out the US, has hit us with a brand new mix packed full of his signature club sounds mixed with r'n'b and hip hop. Just like his "At It Again" EP for Discobelle Records and his XLR8R podcast, that I've banged on about before, this is going to be on heavy rotation for me.

Tracklist
1. Brenmar - Intro
2. 112 – Let This Go (Brenmar Edit)
3. Brenmar – Tasting
4. Samo Sound Boy – Burning and Stealing
5. The Living Islands – Empires (Sam Tiba Remix)

Yeah Woho! - Pushing (Canblaster Remix)

Canblaster and the whole 'Club Cheval' crew have really blown my mind throughout the whole of 2010 with some stunning originals, such as 'Jetpack' (Soundcloud link) and Panteros666's EP on Sound Pellegrino (Soundcloud link).
And it doesn't look like they're stopping anytime soon, with a huge number of remixes in the pipeline for 2011, notably Canblaster's remix for Drop The Lime's Hot as Hell and also his upcoming rejig of Yeah Woho! on Top Billin Records (preview below).
