YOU CEDIT, I CEDIT

Looking over the months of Fridgejet, a string of JC EDIT mixtapes and original work can be found, all of which showcase glimpses of his taste for jackin' house, electro and rave. Over time, his work has become increasingly promising and as of late - his tunes are starting to bang. With a well worked schedule lately and plenty of time spent DJ'ing alongside the likes of the Presets, Van She Tech and Zombie Disco Squad, its crazy that JC EDIT is still gracing us with production efforts. Below stands his latest work on the godfather, Lee Mortimer (who, by note is also coming to Empire - check the event here). 'This is Real Shit', the Mortimer original, was offered up as a remix pack to DJ punters around the globe and it looks like it didnt take long for our man to add his spice to the mix. Check out the original, and also grab a copy of Technophilia Vol #2 - JC EDIT's tech side.

Get Messssy?

A relatively unheard original collaboration caught our ear recently, with Mc Freeflow (Atomic Zoo Recordings) throwing his vocals all over Dirty Basements beat - all to a very nice extent. The song belts out a snappy electro sound with a nice filthed up breakdown and all ends up around on the bassdriven side of house come the breakdown. Let this taster serve as an introduction to the extensive range of UK rap artists belting out collab's at the moment. Shoot some feedback on their pages if you like it!

Wongo + Bozzetto

Prior to laying down their magic on Auckland, Potty Mouth DJ's Adam Bozzetto and Wongo have released a collaboration mixtape the pair recorded. Having recently experienced the skills Bozzetto has to offer, there was no way of looking over this mixtape - especially with the sort of sets Wongo lays down each time his in town. All the goodness brought to you below stems from their upcoming appearence at Coherent Nightclub, as one of the most prominent dance labels in the world send their troops in to take over yet another club. The tape drops a few heavy hitters from the Potty Mouth Records line up, giving a nice taste of whats fresh for Hijack and both of the pair. Be sure to check the tape and if your in the area, get to Coherent on the 9th of May.

Dubsteppin' Diva

The terrorising, bass weilding and wonk splattering man we all know as Danny T is back at again, this time layering his fresh all over 'Diva'... yes, the one your thinking of. The Brissy local must have concluded there just wasn't enough edge on the original and spiced things up a little, dubstep style. If you haven't kept in the loop, Danny has had a string of success with a never ending line up of gigs that has him skipping from venues like the depths of Monastery (our personal favorite) to commercialised super-clubs like The Met, all in one night! Alongside kicking it in the valley for the latter part of every week, Beatport have provided a home for his increasingly polished production efforts - giving the man some wider spread recognition. Snap up the tune ASAP, jump on his Facebook and Myspace and buy a tune or two off Beatport, now.

HUGGEE!

Potty Mouth Records, for those of you who haven't heard us rave about them time and time before, are a collective of (in our opinion) the best artist in the world. The likes of Santiago & Bushido, Electric Soulside, Kelevra, Chris James & Lee Dearn and Australia's very own Adam Bozzetto all hold residency with the label - making it one of the most recognised music labels in the world. Further more, they have decided to send two of their troopers into battle at the Monastery this Friday (3rd of April) and it turns out its none other than Adam Bozzetto (SYD) and Chris James (UK). With Bozzetto banging out a string of highly successful remixes and original efforts, he's become quite the popular guy around town these days, headlining WHAM! and popping his name up at a wide array of national and international gigs. Always the nice guy, he happily sent through two tracks, an original (post-release) and remix (pre-release) just to make sure everyone had a fair idea of why they HAVE to make the trek into Monastery come friday evening. Check the tracks out, and head down to read a little on Chris James!

Never the one to dissapoint, Chris James too has had is fair share of success, tearing around the globe and prepping up for his Australian debut this friday. Having developed a very succesful relationship with Lee Dearn, his production efforts have seen him skyrocket upwards. You all would of heard Torcida Cumbia (and the very impressive Mightyfools remix) and his other work does not fall short. Check the tape, and jump the link to head over to the 'In Robots we Trust' Blog to snap up a track of his, just to see what all the fuss is about!

Jeeze Bass Sit the F$%K Down!

With no introduction needed, lets just jump into the world of JCEDIT straight away. Having been banging out week in and week out for the last year, the Say Hello winner has done big things since our last posts on him and shows no sign of been anywhere near a use by date. The Brisbane star has since rounded his genres and continues to bang out in a number of styles, including harder hitting techno, dubstep and all that tweaked shit! Never one to disappoint, he threw us his latest production effort to test out, and we like it! Jump on the bandwagon and have a listen to the tune, become a fan on his page and catch his next set to see what he does live!

HO-JU RECORDS! WHOOP

Of course, you've all heard the likes of Wonk, Bass Weazal, Jak-Z and even Brisbanes very own, Koochie - but what do these top notch artists have in common? Well, while they may be evenly dispersed around the globe, all of them have featured on the prominent (and skyrocketing) label, Ho-Ju Records. The guys and girls over at Ho-Ju have established themselves as a premier Australian and international label and are continuing on the up. To further explain just how good these crazy music fanatics are, we decided to have a sit down chat with label owner/manager Duane Spratling, just to see how things were working.

First things first however - with releases coming out left, right and center for the label, the always friendly crew were happy to throw some promo tracks our way, fresh on beatport! This week, we received both the original and Aquasky remix of Crush Groovin', the Journeyman VS BARRcode track. While both are equally catchy and impressive, in true FridgeJet style we just can't go past the extra bass layer Aquasky threw on - true banger! Check the interview, grab the samples - then jump your ass onto Beatport and buy their shit ASAP.

So first of all, how would you describe Ho-Ju Records to a person who hadn't heard of them before?

First of all, we would say.. " Where the hell u been??? ".. hehe... well let me see, We are a label that releases floor shaking stuff from across any genre.. if it makes ya wanna shake ya booty, we want it on Ho-Ju. haha ..That sound stupid enough???

So would you say Ho-Ju have a specialised genre?

We didn't want to limit ourselves to just one genre, sort of like my dj sets.. I play a variety of styles including  Breaks/Electro/Fidget/House/Tech House/Progressive..... thats what i wanted to represent in a label.. We don't have one specific genre we want to concentrate on purely because there are so many amazing artists across a wide variety of genres, who we respect and admire that we didn't want to be limited as to who we could sign on our label..

What artists have you and the team worked with?

We have been lucky enough to work with some incredible artists including: Journeyman VS BARRcode, Lissat & Voltaxx, Roman Pushkin, Aquasky, Micah Black, House Addicts, Ellektra, Kelevra, DJ Bam Bam, The Angry Kids, Dylan Rhymes, Pablo Decoder, Love Assassins, Aquilaganja, WoNK, Nick Supply, Jak-Z, Tom EQ, Koochie, Analogue, Gigi Barocco, Josh David ( Breakdown ), Edu K, Aniki, Dan Aux, Lazy Rich, Kaysh, Milner ...

Any major future prospects, and what can we expect from Ho-Ju Records in 2009?

We have an amazing line up of releases coming up in the next few months including some more instalments from Ho-Ju favs Journeyman VS BARRcode ( Crush Groovin out 30th March ) and WoNK ( Jump out 13th April W/ Bass Weazal mix ) the much anticipated ' Loose Morals EP ' from Bris-Vegas local Koochie..( inc Remixes by Gigi Barocco, Edu K , Analogue, Josh David ( Breakdown ) & Aniki ) ..2009 is all about establishing Ho-Ju Records as a label to watch...A label that consistently releases quality music from a broad range of genres...Also as a side project.. We have teamed with Monkey Beats in the UK to form Monkey-Ho ... Doing a one off release ... That will hit soon... keep an eye out...;)

Where can people buy your stuff?

Beatport, Juno Download, Trackitdown, DJDownload, I-Tunes, Napster, DJTunes, Juno Records, Hard To Find Records, Chemical Records, Vinyl Warning.. and more sites to come...

Any nights/events in conjunction with the label?

Not as yet, although we are looking at putting on some nights in conjunction with some upcoming releases, and we are also looking at getting into touring some local and international artists...we will be pushing this hard in 09.. So stay tuned... ;)

Got any shout outs, or anything we have missed?

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all who have jumped on board with support for Ho-Ju so far...The people who have bought our tracks , the dj's who have played our tracks, the producers who have made the tracks, the blog sites like yourself who feature us, everyone who has supported Ho-Ju .. A MASSIVE THANK YOU!!!!

A big big thankyou to Bec, Bails & Eileen... Thier Support is greatly appreciated..
