Hard to Beat ! !

Dirtiest, filthiest beats in brisbane? Check.
The best residents in Brisbane? Check.
International guest superstar? Check.

To be honest, Danny T and Killafornia float our boat week in week out, but sure, if Monastery is willing to fork out some extra dough to get international superstar DJ/producer Alex Schmitz in for a night, WHY NOT? The UK resident drops everything from fidget to rave bangers and is honored by the Brisbane community as one of the best producers abroad. He arrives in Brisbane with a plethora of international recognition and without a doubt plans to rock the roof off the Monastery into the wee hours of the morning. Pretty much, your an idiot if you miss it. Check his shit now and come say Hi to the crew at Monastery this weekend.

BENIBEE (GPO) + JMAC (MONO)

'Say Hello' to the 'Newest Kids on the Block' !

Showcasing some fresh names on the scene this week is pretty hard to avoid when the quality of offerings rival that of the more established crew. Benibee dropped his shit at GPO's young gun feature night a few weeks back and since then his name has popped up in the infamous 'Fuck Fluro' nights that tear Fridays@GPO apart on regular intervals. His music selection is good, and seem's to breach some of the constraints of genre definition - suggesting a well rounded mindset for the Brisbane young gun. Check him out next at 'Fuck Fluro' (Click here to see the event page).

Walk down the street and around the corner and you will stumble across some equally fresh talent lurking in the depths of Monastery. JMAC got snapped up by the home of dirty beats for the most part of the 2009 year and without having any first hand experience with the guy, his mixtape does plenty of talking. To be honest but, if your a resident alongside the likes of Killafornia and Danny T, you have to be doing a lot right. Jump his links and be sure to see him on the 28th of March when he boasts his feature night at the home of dirty, Monastery!

Charlie's at it again?

Fanaticism.

Without any intention of rubbing salt into the wounds of those who missed him when he tore through Empire Middle Bar, I can't go past the latest offering from the always friendly Jaimie Fanatic. He twists out a promotional mixtape just to give everyone a taste of what's to come when his album drops SOON! Guess who has DIM MAK!?

With Dim Mak establishing itself as one of the biggest party labels of late, its to no surprise that the clothing line has been doing better than ever. With Bob, Tommy (Bloody Beetroots), Steve (Aoki) and Cobrasnake currently playing seek and destroy on every good club in Europe during their 2009 tour, the gear is getting worldwide exposure. Incorporating art based, sketch-like animations, the shirts are refreshing and consistently of a high quality. Did I mention they are rare? Or that Antijoy is the ONLY store in Australia currently stocking the line? Don't run out the door, heres the address first:

Hey Punk!

One track we couldn't turn away in our inbox this week, regardless of how Soundcloud felt about it! Anyway, joining forces with one of their favourite producers, The Young Punx and Riva Starr deliver this fidgety-tech groove with a ragga vocals from Yolanda.

Simple but infectious acidhouse basslines leave plenty of room for signature Riva Starr sounds and stabs. The result is total dance-floor energy and drive, which has gained the support from some of house music’s most influential DJs including Calvertron (One of Fridgejet's current favorites) and David Guetta. The original 1.5 mix of Juice & Gin will feature on The Young Punx new album ‘MashPop and PunkStep', due for release late Summer of 2009. The track is definitaly worth a listen, so jump on all the links and say you liked it before everyone else did!

Couldn't Get Enough?

Just incase the array of bootlegs thrown into 'the fridge' by Dylan Holshausen last week (check the post here) wasn't enough, more popped up in my inbox today! This one gets twisted out a little differently to his previous three offerings but none the less gets completed and finished at a very advanced level. His production efforts just keep getting better - durty stuff! Check him out this weekend at 'In Deep and Decked Out' alongside Stylus B, the other half of 'Fidget Thugs'!

PS - missing Royal K's stuff? A small problem to be fixed then its back up!

Soquitcherbitchin' Its HERE!

Santiago & Bushido remain at the forefront of the music scene - consistently offering great tracks on one of the best labels out, Potty Mouth Records. The formula is simple, but the Chicago duo have continued to release tracks that gain international attention and find their way to dancefloors all around the globe. Having just dropped their 'Second Nature' EP, they have skyrocketed in the blog world once again and its just not natural to miss them. With three originals (Can't Be Wrong, Second Nature and Bounce) and a remix by Johnny Fiasco, its one of the best Chris Santiago and Tim Bush have ever come out with (3 fresh originals, c'mon!). The harder and heavier elements they add to originally soulful house sounds will continue to get everyone going, so jump on the overflowing bandwagon before you cant fit! Check out the 128kbs preview (compliment of Soquitcherbitchen, one of our favorite blogs) of just ONE of the tracks on the EP, then buy the EP on the link directly below (to be honest, if one isn't enough chase up more on the blog link above). It's fun!

Heavy ITM

This week ITM delved deep into Freq Nasty's world and dropped 'Peacemaker', a track from his new album. Incase you don't know, Freq Nasty is dropping some mean underground stuff over in London and it's no surprise he's gained the attention of our switched on Australian nightlife experts. I find the mix heavy and almost cluttered at times, but regardless its a technical mix executed very well. Check out the track (this week only) and jump on the links!

P.S - Incase you were wondering, each week, In The Mix (Australia's leading nightlife and dance music guide) offer a complimentary download. Hopefully, on every given Monday, we provide a link to their page here. Cool?

No Evil In Tokyo

Hear No Evil are a new production trio from the Tokyo underground who just dropped two fresh bootlegs in the Fridgejet inbox. The team consists of Meiho, Go-Gul and Jubai and to be honest, they are pushing out some pretty fresh wobble from across the way. With an EP in the works, the team are set to establish their sound very soon and its sure to be impressive (if the bootlegs are any example). Their tracks will be available soon and they promised a mix to all the blogs that show them support, so be sure to check back soon and find out a little more about them.

Stupid FRRESH?

We all know how good they are. But, here's a lovely mixtape the UK boys did for a few radio stations and it shows why their energetic live shows are still amping up dance floors internationally. Check out Beatport to snap up some of their tracks and jump on their Myspace and say hi!

Fidget Love From South Africa!

While I am in no way familiar with Kempton Park (South Africa), a short introduction to Dylan Holshausen gave me the impression it has a lot to offer. Infusing elements of funk, fidget and electro, Dylan's sound turned out to be a perfect blend to be placed in 'the fridge'. His production efforts on show today come as a result of an introduction to Mark Stent (the worlds strongest DJ) in 2008 which provided the opportunity and inspiration to master the production side of DJ'ing. It also opened up a whole new world, giving Dylan a chance to get involved in Flexual Records (Mark's label) who are sitting on a dirty, filthy artist base including Nick Supply and Kyle Watson.

Combine a head full of determination, a posse full of talent and a really good taste in music? It spells a big future and it sounds like the links below - be sure to check them all out. His original (and exclusive) is excellent and I recommend his take on the highly remixed 'Where's Your Head At?'. Jump all the links and learn more about Dylan, Flexual Records and his posse (we want to get him back on here soon!).

JCEDIT's back!

JCEDIT just dropped his latest mixtape in the Fridgejet inbox and its quality just like the last one. After cleaning up at 'Say Hello' and popping into all the best clubs EVERY weekend in 2008, expect big things in the new year. Check back soon for a sneak peak at a new track he's working on!

ITM brings Buraka Som Sistema?

Buraka Som Sistema fuse native Angolan Kuduro sounds with electro orientated beats. They are very good but are not like the typical Fridgejet DJ's - but hey, its always good to try something new.

While their sound puts out a very unique feeling, Buraka Som Sistema ARE like some artists you may have heard before. They share a similar sound with the always daring M.I.A (Steve Aoki labeled their set at Coachella one of the pinnacle moments of 2008) and has roots that must have stemmed from artists like Diplo and Bondo De Role. Their sound was enough to (albeit perhaps only for one post) break away from the fidgety, sweat driven dance tracks that usually arrive in my inbox. Fridgejet feels proud in having the chance (via the help of In The Mix) to bring you this international flavored electro ghetto funk - fresh from the trio's debut album 'Black Diamond'. Enjoy and appreciate a sound that tears away from musical genre's and the constraints that come with them.

Ps - the boys are on their Australian tour, doing various stops including the Laneway Festivals in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.

Late Fanatics!

Oops. If the Fridgejet drop box was checked daily, the track you see before you now (albeit 13 days later) would have served as a perfect taste tester to what was experienced at Empire when Jaimie Fanatic rolled through Brisbane. The place wasn't packed enough, especially considering he's spun to over 20,000, has toured all around the world and has a comprehensive bible of original and remixed tracks (all of the highest quality). Maybe word just doesn't spread to Brisbane, cause the rest of the world knows about this remix playboy? Anyway - check the track, look out for his upcoming tours and jump on his myspace and say hi!

If You Missed Him at New Years...

In conjunction with Chew The Fats party coming up at Corsica Studios (event here - what a lineup!), Foamo dropped a fresh mixtape (late January 2009) and ripped it out to us. The links got chewed up pretty fast and have already been reposted - so you might wanna jump the link now and read the rest later. Regardless of that, the mixtape showcases various Foamo masterpieces including 'Wardance' (which is doing well on Radio 1 at the moment) and has a spray of international talent in the track listing, including AC Slater, Drop the Lime, Diplo and Jack Beats. Get it now and reminisce about New Years eve at Empire.
