LU10 RECORDS/CENSOR THIS!

Consider this post a double edged sword. We have both (A) an awesome release to talk about and (B), a stellar local with a big opportunity that needs a shout. We hope you enjoy it. We know you will!

(A) Throwing Jay Robinson, Detboi, Supabeatz and Kitch'N'Sync onto a single EP is destined for success, and thats exactly what LU10 records have done with their latest release. Titled 'Rawr', the Jay Robinson feature EP is an absolute stormer in terms of diversity and straight up floor filling power, with all participants stepping up and showing their own unique styles in the best way possible. Personally, we love the feel of the original and Detboi remixes, but both Supabeatz and Kitch'N'Sync complete the EP with amazing remix masterpieces. Best thing about it? It's out now, so buy it right here!!

(B) Censor This is a Brisbane local many would have run into over the years. He's better known for his jackin' sound than playing at any one particular venue, with diversity always been high up on his priorities list. This Thursday night see's his chance at the highly popular 'Say Hello' event at Monastery nightclub, alongside fellow local Kayli. If your thinking of a venture into the late night district, we strongly recommend a drink, dance and fist pump during his set!

Here's a few for now though. Enjoy them :)

Potty Mouth/BPR

Potty Mouth Music is bringing the bass back home on its latest EP with a three-track trek through some of dance music's most infectious grooves of the season. This time, it's Chicago's own DJ Bam Bam making heads bob on his "Big Bass EP" - an uptempo romp of swinging drums, vocal stabs and layered synths that strike both a fun and funky chord on the dance floor. Los Angeles' own Whiskey Pete and Chicago's Alex Peace lend vocal support, while fellow Potty Mouth artist Kelevra puts a dance anthem spin on Bam's title track. The end result is a clever compilation of cone-blowing bass that also twists with lyrical bliss.

For Bam, collaborating with long time friend and creative partner Alex Peace helped put a lighter spin on his bass-heavy PMM debut. "Anytime Alex and I get in the studio, it's nothing but fun and laughs, which makes making music together so easy and fun" Says Bam, who also incorporated swing drums to add even more energy to the EP - "Big Bass definitely reflects the process".

Some labels can spend the most part of a year establishing themselves as anything other than throw away rubbish. Seems Big Poppa Records dove head first in the deep end in regards to earning their rights and boy, isn't it starting to pay off! 'Funky Furniture' (BPR006) has just dropped and 'straight up cool' is the best way to describe it. The Jackinori & Eddi Zanetti original packs serious bass, with the Stupid Fresh and Eats Everything remixes both providing amazing and fresh takes on a winning original. We suggest you gobble up the links then smash out your purchasing abilities right here! Thanks Big Poppa :)

With the lines between genres more blurred than ever present, we stand by our notion that good music isn't a genre, and possibly, never will be.

For this reason, today we're very happy to introduce (or perhaps inform) you about our friendly, upbeat, loosely defined Dutch French Pop Disco House prodigy, Rubix. With a playing style, reminiscent of 'neu-disco', French touch, Space Disco, Tekfunk, whatever you'd like to call it, Rubix applies a distinct similar sound sentiments throughout his tunes. His formidable playing-style is a standout out of a large portion of club-banging tunes we've been familiar with in the Fridge before, with its distinction not mediocre, and still very much able to get those toes tapping. Successfully pioneering his audience to his alternative music style also illustrates Rubix's versatility and production abilities as a DJ. Unconfined to the mainstream sentiments of modern house are perhaps root to one of his many successes.

Infused in his mixtapes and sets are often his own productions so we've attempted to share with you as big a dose of Rubix as possible.

MYSTERIOUS CUB

We write this post with a smile. That's not to say we're ever unhappy or grim when smashing out a written depiction of a musical creation, but this one's something special. This one's something different.

Cub is a new creation. He is a musically talented producer who hails from wherever he wants to. He has knowledge, experience and a good ear for the composition of music that we like and enjoy listening to. He is kind, he is worthy, he has other names and he even has a Myspace! We like this guy already. So does Chris James. They even did a tune together - a tune we now have for you! So whats all the rage? Well we really like the tunes he's written. They're a nice combination of that jackin' sound that was ever so prevalent in the past year, but they also incorporate what can only be described as a forward thinking adjustment. They simply don't sound like they could go stale as easy as many of the generic sounding productions that have filled releases of late. We really think, that if he wants to, Cubs could go places.

DESTROY TOUR!!

It has come to the attention of the Authorities that two of the most notorious gangs known to the establishment, The Bloody Beetroots and The Aston Shuffle have formed an unholy alliance which threatens to send the good citizens of Club Land into total anarchy. In circumstances never before witnessed these two musical masterminds have created a weapon of unparalleled power known only by the name DESTROY. Possessing unprecedented sonic powers including the ability to melt the ears of the people of Club Land, intelligence suggests that the weapon will be implemented in a matter of weeks.
