Wonk = Half Young Nutz

Young Nutz is the latest collaborative effort in the world of durrrrttyyy dance! With collaborations seemingly in trend (Switch + Diplo = Major Lazer!?), WonK (one of our favorites) and diXXie teamed up to 'bring back the good old rave days they fondly remember and educate the new age clubbers on their style of fidget and wonky beats'. Already, the two have spread the love and produced a number of exceptional bootlegs for the fans, all of which we have set below for your audible pleasure. If you like the sound these two are churning out, check out their expanding works on beatport, where the two have already remixed the likes of Cold Blank and held remix efforts based around MC Freeflow's vocals. JUMP!

Young Nutz - Nutty Beeper ('Beeper' Bootleg)

J-J-J-JMAC and THE DON!

The always creative and original Monastery resident JMAC has just thrown a fresh mix together in time for his appearance this Friday alongside Don Rimini. I was probably meant to write 'Let Me Back Up' in brackets after that so everyone who doesn't have a clue gets one about who he is, but let us tell you, he is big. Anyway, JMAC has slotted into his residency at Monastery perfectly and can always be found banging out his fresh style behind the decks, with this mixtape been a perfect tangible example of why its worth getting in there and checking him out. He's just as good as all the other INSANE Monastery residents! While your at it, get a taste of the main set this Friday and snap up Don's May 09 mixtape, fresh off the decks! See you at Don Rimini.

Dominant Daz

This bloke has it covered. He is killing production and he seems like the most laid back guy out - check what we ripped off his Myspace incase you haven't herd about Daz The Dominant before:

Daz The Dominant has been producing for a year, stepping into the dance scene with blitzkrieg form (currently in the eye of the storm). Addicted to perfection, Daz The Dominant does not release just anything to appear successful - with hundreds of tracks locked into the vaults. Daz prides himself in his released work, despite looking down on his production, and will continue to fulfil the club scene until the world blows up in 2012. You can catch Daz in Sydney clubs here and there.. and there - but does not insist on being a DJ.

Furthermore - here is an EP that is guaranteed to get you addicted to the sounds he's throwing out, check it then start buying his tracks and sending him fan mail every day!

Candy Concentrate

May 7th marked the launch of Black Candy, with the night booming into Moon Bar @ Empire with support from Sec's and Fridgejet - plus a whole load of sweeeeet DJ's on board. Everyone (who could fit) had a big night and the vibe set the scene for the upcoming events, set to be the latest and greatest in inner-valley house party entertainment. The next one smacks Empire up on June 4th and strikes the 'Revenge of the Nerd', and if you think your too cool make sure you hide your complimentry thick rimmed glasses upon entry. Check the flyer above for details, or jump this link right... here, for more information on the event!

D-D-D-D-Dem Slackers

Recently much was thrown about regarding the current dubstep trend, a very similar movement to the one into fidget house a number of years ago. Whatever the reasons, its producing a new sounding music that the masses are demanding - and to cope with the demand? The DJ's have upped the supply. While the traditional juggernauts of dubstep will remain constant, the style is been splashed around by many other artists. Dem Slackers (remember the name they are amazing) often lay a little dub tep into their tunes, but throw in a variety of sounds that always seem to compliment each other. They are sitting on the back of a slightly delayed 'Joker' EP release which could not be passed by on Beatport, a true showcase of their current skill and a compliment to their style. Well, on offer is not the Joker EP but rather their latest work on the new Mightyfools release, 'Amsterdam'. You guessed it, they drop dub! The track is amazingly polished and even gets anti-dubsteppers dubstepping. Check the guys on all the links and buy their shit!

Back At Best

While we here at Fridgejet have not heard much from the world of Dylan H of late, the charts certainly have. Still keeping up an exceptional work rate, Dylan has tracks scattered all over the infamous Stompy Top 100 Electro Chart, with Fidget Thugs sitting on the kings throne for a number of weeks. Alongside this he is jumping on remixes and kicking out bootlegs like no other, all while jumping infront of the masses on the weekend. Apparently he still has time to send tracks our way, as we happily received two earlier in the week and here they are for your audible delight (apparently one goes down well with the ladies).

BONUS: Our friend Royal K (while we are on the topic of veryyy good South African DJ's) has just thrown together a fresh May mixtape for all the fans out there. It drops a bunch of exclusives and the track list is red hot, so grab it and jam it in the car for the week!

JC EDIT v BASS KLEPH

Delve into the 'Fridges' archives and you will find a full shelf of JC EDIT work, filled with jackin' mix tapes and fresh original work from the Brisbane local. All the tracks are promising and with a time line of development evident, it was obvious his latest work on Bass Kleph was going to be good. $pend My Money caught the eye of JC EDIT and he ran his sound all over it, pushing out his (in our opinion) best original effort yet. Stop reading, check it now and jump on his internet networking sh!t.

Sotiris!

Sotiris is a upcoming DJ and producer from Sydney.

With the basics taken care of, I can go on to tell you that his recent production efforts combine a jacked up sound with nice glitches and are increasingly polished. Sotiris also uses cool artwork to distinguish his work from others and it sure does work. Check out the taste testers and direct feedback to the man himself, or simply hit him up for more tracks. Enjoy!

Better Late Than Never..?

While his latest mix tape effort did hit the speakers of all the scenester's around Brisbane a week ago, Noy knows as well as I do... Uni work sucks. Anyway (better late than never), Noy just wrapped up 'Making Mischeif' which turns out to be the first part of a two-section mixtape. It encorporates a bunch of songs you'll know and drops hits both new and old - all in typical Noy Boy style. Snap this one up as a warmer for the sort of tunes he'll be spitting out when he supports Zombie Disco Squad @ Monastery on May 21st.
