In the prior few months, the hotspots around town would have spent their days trying to fork out enough to entice a major Australian or international act to spend the opening hours of 2009 winding into a new beat at their club. Monastery managed to lay down the law pretty early, signing German DJ and producer Malente to rock the yearly spectacle. With all his wobble and fidget experience, I can see him fitting in perfectly with the crowd and giving Monastery their moneys worth. Brisbane fans definitely have something to look forward to, with his sound described as bassline-driven electro - straight pumpin' dirty filth with that positive Malente vibe. His german club experience has allowed the release of four albums via Unique Records, amounting a number of remixes and regularly posting re-edits on Berlin Battery.
I picked up this track a few days ago. Each week he throws out re-edits, all of equally high quality. This song especially inspired me to stay in town on new years and head to Monastery. I think new years would kick off pretty well around the 0:58 mark.
