After a tonne of emails and only one incorrect answer (Overconfidence? Wikipedia search gone wrong?), we gave you all a number and chucked you all in a hat. Turn's out number 44 got the draw, going to a lucky guy named Brandon M. He was stoked to nab the 2 tickets and like all of us, will be clasping his way to the front on Thursday night when Steve Aoki rips Family apart.

Today marks a severe hangover and Fridgejet's 200th post. For the debatable occasion, we've decided to do something different and throw a bit of everything in, some chat, a give away, a few tunes, a mixtape or two for the weekend and even some pics and video's if you can't remember what's happened lately. Ah What Happened Thursday Night?
Waking up friday morning was tough. Thursday night Black Candy (their monthly chat out tomorrow!) kept in true style and threw a wicked French Party with the centerpiece undeniably a killer set by local producer Koochie. The big crowd got a solid serving of her tunes as she jammed out behind the decks, a sight that is likely to become increasingly familiar to Brisbane club punters. Those that made the trek to Monastery afterward gave witness to an unscheduled stop in from the most part of the Black Eyed Peas, with Will.I.Am taking to the decks and whipping up a killer party set!

Awhile ago we featured a whole load of Disco Villians remixes and originals and they go down a treat. Here's the latest gem we have received, a techy meets big room tune - nice!

The friendly UK producer and DJ said he finally got around to throwing this one out, so here's the link from the man himself. Usual, clean, Hijack production - a good pick.

Steve Aoki ft [[[Zuper Blahq]] - I'm In The House (Killafornia Edit)
Crazy name from the debut vocalist aside, our home hero Killafornia puts another one of his tasty edit's out, making the tune a little more mixing friendly for the DJ minded.

The Bulgarian vs The Fidgitive - Sorta Gargle
We have very little knowledge about this tune beside the fact that it was made by the two producers in 2008 using Reason 4.0 and Msn Messenger?? They have another one coming soon, see what you think.

JC EDIT - Smoking Kills// Vol 1.
As per usual, JC spins out a sweet mixtape for his loyal fan base and in doing so, promises that another one is not only in the making, but due out soon. Check it out!

Steve Aoki, aka Kid Millionaire, is a celebrity DJ and also the founder of Dim Mak Records, which counts leading indie rock bands such as Gossip, Bloc Party, and Battles among its stable of signees. The son of wealthy restauranteur Rocky Aoki, he is of Japanese heritage and calls Los Angeles home. In 2007 he released his first official mix CD, Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles, on Thrive Records. Featuring tracks by Justice, Klaxons, Mystery Jets, Peaches, Datarock, Yelle, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, and Scanners -- most of them remixed -- Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles is fairly representative of the Aoki's renown as a taste making dance-party DJ rather than a skilfull turntablist.

Huge 2009?

While they remain two of my favorite producers of all time, The Bloody Beetroots almost did a hit and run in 2008. A plethora of tracks suddenly opened up and gave the world a taste of what they were all about and upon the positive response, it was an all out war. The Bloody Beetroots went on a rampage, remixing everyone from The Kills and Robyn to Timbaland and LA Riots - all with amazing feedback. Now? Well it's a little quiet around France. Maybe its the fact that, like The Crookers, they just simply couldn't keep up that level of production and maintain a hectic touring schedule? Wrong, they can and they are.
