RELAX!

Before we start on this impromptu post, we just want to make sure you haven't missed the happenings in the last couple of days. We have both (A) a write up on Danny T & Chris James' latest EP Hustlin' and (B) a solid dosing of 'We No Speak Americano' remixes. If you've missed them, click here or here respectively! Anyyway... today brings a new day and with it we've decided to push out some of the music we have received over the past few weeks (as we have been quite slack!). Don't expect this post to follow any sort of order. Just enjoy it and lap up the audible goodness and save it for the weekend when you can compliment it with an icy cold beer and a hot Brazilian girl in a bikini.

We said it over a year ago and we'll say it again - in terms of the tech house music scene, Riva Starr can do no wrong. Often producing understated tracks with catchy melodies, lyrics and samples you couldn't find anywhere but your grandparents record collection, he has proven that he is the f$%king man! We've got a remix of his highly popular 'I Was Drunk' track by Nottingham's former 'Uber DJs' - The Shooting Horses. What do you think?

We've chatted about Tooshoes before. He's a solid Brisbane DJ and producer who's making a name for himself by associating with all things party. Not only can he drop a killer set, but he's also really working his way into high end production. Watching his tracks become increasingly polished is actually quite enjoyable. Watch out for this guy!

Love In Darkness is the choice cut from Ali Love's new album 'Love Harder'. It's definitely something different in respect to what we usually post, but theres something about the vocal that just keeps pulling you threw the song. If we had to explain it in detail, we'd say it wraps you up and serenades you, whether your in the pits of a nightclub or strolling the walkways of a park. Check it out, but don't expect the usual!

BONUS!

Hijack vs Santiago & Bushido

What happens when three of Potty Mouth Music’s most established producers team up in their first ever studio collaboration?  Think samples, synths and instrumentation galore. The end result is “Way Back EP,” a four-track mix of house, percussive and peak-hour grooves that draw influences from the distinct styles of PMM’s Jon Chant (HiJack) and Chris Santiago and Tim Bushido (Santiago & Bushido).  The inception of PMM 033 dates back to spring 2009, when UK-native HiJack toured the States on the strength of his “Jackpot” (PMM05) and “Keep It Real”(PMM 022) EPs. Between gigs, he caught up with Chicago-based production duo Santiago & Bushido and settled in for some studio time.

The result was Way Back, which is a track all three of us made together,” Bushido says.

A series of overseas emails soon yielded two remixes—one completely done by HiJack and another styled solely by S&B. “Putting it Down,” the EP’s other original track, was also crafted through a collaborative series of audio exchanges. “Jon started it and got the core of the track—we beefed it up a bit and added our trademarks to it and mixed it down,” Bushido says.

It’s definitely a groover for house heads with some fresh samples and chunky beats,” HiJack quips. We agree! Check the samples below compliments of Potty Mouth Music and jump the EP on Beatport RIGHT HERE!!

200 Club?

Today marks a severe hangover and Fridgejet's 200th post. For the debatable occasion, we've decided to do something different and throw a bit of everything in, some chat, a give away, a few tunes, a mixtape or two for the weekend and even some pics and video's if you can't remember what's happened lately. We hope you like and thanks for reading us!

---

Ah What Happened Thursday Night?
Waking up friday morning was tough. Thursday night Black Candy (their monthly chat out tomorrow!) kept in true style and threw a wicked French Party with the centerpiece undeniably a killer set by local producer Koochie. The big crowd got a solid serving of her tunes as she jammed out behind the decks, a sight that is likely to become increasingly familiar to Brisbane club punters. Those that made the trek to Monastery afterward gave witness to an unscheduled stop in from the most part of the Black Eyed Peas, with Will.I.Am taking to the decks and whipping up a killer party set!

Steve Aoki Ticket Giveaway!

The man needs no introduction, but if you've been living under a rock Dominic will fill you in. He's put up a post on the crazy man and is giving anyone who checks it out the chance to win 2 Steve Aoki tickets when The Arcade Creative bring him to Family on October 30th. Be sure to check it out to find out just how you can win these tickets and get on it straight away to save some cash or missing out completely.

Clip of the Week.
Youtube is a wonderful place and our latest contributor and crazy graphic guru Moe knows it. Each week from now on he will be posting his favorite find from the trusty tube. Who knows what it will do to you but be sure to check them out. Here's a taste test from Moe before he kicks things off next week.

Tunes & Tapes

Despite our fondness of pointless banter, we know your here for the tunes. Here's a few tracks and tapes that have caught our eye over the past week. Check them out!

Shark Attack ft DJ-EJ - Ghost Knives (Disco Villians "Big Room" Banger Remix)
Awhile ago we featured a whole load of Disco Villians remixes and originals and they go down a treat. Here's the latest gem we have received, a techy meets big room tune - nice!

DJ Falcon - Untitled (Hijack Remix)
The friendly UK producer and DJ said he finally got around to throwing this one out, so here's the link from the man himself. Usual, clean, Hijack production - a good pick.

Steve Aoki ft [[[Zuper Blahq]] - I'm In The House (Killafornia Edit)
Crazy name from the debut vocalist aside, our home hero Killafornia puts another one of his tasty edit's out, making the tune a little more mixing friendly for the DJ minded.

The Bulgarian vs The Fidgitive - Sorta Gargle
We have very little knowledge about this tune beside the fact that it was made by the two producers in 2008 using Reason 4.0 and Msn Messenger?? They have another one coming soon, see what you think.

JC EDIT - Smoking Kills// Vol 1.
As per usual, JC spins out a sweet mixtape for his loyal fan base and in doing so, promises that another one is not only in the making, but due out soon. Check it out!

Foreplay mixed by Jordan Naumov
We all love this guy, and he's just served up the perfect mix tape to wind yourself up for something a little heavier when you get out. In his own words, it's the sorta jackin' stuff that won't rape your ears!

Hope you enjoyed it all.
Sammy, Dominic, Moe.

What's Hot?

Considering we've spent a bunch of time connecting with a cool load of people who are obviously interested in blogs, we've decided to compile a little top three today to help you out in your future quests for good tunes. We'd be agreeing and smiling politely if you were to tell us its any ones best guess what 'cool' is, but let this list serve purpose as our take on the best three blogs out there at the moment. Where hoping this serving doesn't blow your mind and get you wildly addicted to the well-composed and very established sites your about to be exposed to, but if it does, be sure to pop back into the Fridge once in awhile! Our criteria was pretty damn simple. How much good music do they post? How often do they post it? And how well the artists we're acknowledged. Here's our take, we hope you like!
1. You Can Call Me Pelski
We actually do! While we've unfortunately maintained very little contact with the scenester over the past year, it's impossible to put him anywhere other than the top spot in conjuring up this list. His taste in music spans endlessly, with only one consistent rule - 'no throw away rubbish'. He doesn't care much for the fad genres either, evident in the diverse and comprehensive artist list he has built up over the past years. Every now and then a
'Pelski Highly Recommends Chart' pops up, sort of like his scripting into a continuing bible of the best dance tracks in the world. It's not the shit you see clogging up Aria charts, but the well produced, intricate work of those artists who just 'have it', irrelevant of their 'social status'. We're not going to say Pelski has the rest of the list completely covered, but when it comes to select offerings of amazing music with write ups to match, he's doin' pretty damn good (he's even got his own clothing line). He just recently handed half of his work over to a protege under the alias 'Charles Darkley' (who happened to kick things off with a sick mixtape, get it here) and has just dropped his latest Pelski Playlist! Here's our favorite tune from the bunch, but be sure to get the rest right here, this guy is dope! This sucka's a rework by a guy named DJ Punish on one of our favorite producers out at the moment - Alvaro. Make sure you thank Pelski!

Alvaro - Make It Funky (DJ Punish Remix) ppelectro.blogspot.com

2. Palms Out Sounds
These guys don't need introductions or spiels. They've been around the block for ages (
2005 to be exact) and they have kicked off what was once a small project into a very profitable and successful site, branched off into Palms Out Sounds Records. Sure, they might have turned into the blogospheres version of a money making machine, but the crew have kept it real and continue to deliver quality rounds of tunes in a friendly manner that's got their readership well upwards of the roof. They seem to have quietened things up a bit in August on the blog side of things, but that can be easily attributed to the hectic workings behind a record label (which has spat names out like Norrit, AC Slater & our much loved B. Rich). Regardless, here's a little sample of what the team have provided lately, bit of different, dirty summer fun. If you like it, make sure you make visiting them a regular thing, just like us yeh?

Example - Watch The Sun Come Up (Joker & Ginz Remix) palmsoutsounds.blogspot.com

We could sit here and chat about Disturbed Beats for days. Their just straight up cool. They deliver a bunch of style out of the UK and have a very prominent following in Australia too, maybe put down to their continued work with the crazy Wongo. They deliver funky tunes and we'd best describe the overall feel as 'jackin' when it comes to snapping tracks off their page. The team behind it also have a really cool exclusive mix set series (top left of the link) going on, and smash out some awesome and informative work. We find that we just can't stop going back there, just to keep up on the scene and all that, you know? :) Check out a little taste from the team lately, drop them a line and blow them kisses for the good music!

Hijack - RVM (Bootleg) disturbedbeats.blogspot.com

That concludes our little 'podium ranking' of blogs at the moment. Before you shoot us a recommendation about a blog we must have surely 'missed' because it is clearly better than one or more of our choices, we had about 20 that all deserved a mention but it's just that tough! Honorable mention shoots out to the champions behind the likes of Deckhead, Penned Madness, Stoney Roads, Discobelle and more. Jump 'em now!

NOTE: All links can be found within the main post text.

Wongo...

Everyone knows the name. We all know how good he is. We just wish we had one of his infamous tracks, but check one of his brilliant mixtapes until then. Wongo is here to stay ladies and gentleman!

FridgeJet's December Christmas 3!

This months top three, while still delivering excellent performances by outstanding artists, may have been a little rushed due to Christmas commitments. That aside, it became evident that artists and producers may have the smallest holidays bar none, considering some of the EP work the UK fidget boys have got coming up (see what Calvertron and Heavyfeet are up to). Heavyfeet claim they are 'entering studio hibernation soon' which is a prize for all of us in the new year. Aside from that, Kelevra (UK again) is also throwing out Christmas cheer having just recently released his Clean Jeans EP via FridgeJets favourite label - Potty Mouth Records. Forget that, more about Kelevra later, here's the top three!

The Italian boys have been throwing together mixes for awhile and have plenty more to come, but this one caught my ear pretty well. Its racy like a Superbeatz song, its got a catchy sound and never shows any signs of weakness. What's more, the almighty (in my mind) Bloody Beetroots remixed 'Sexo Perfecto', the Supabeatz original - which makes them even better somehow!

From !Tashed
Favorite DJ's therefore minimal description required. The Bloody Beetroots distinctive, hard charged sound skyrocketed their worldwide popularity, further enhance by the release of their highly anticipated EP, 'Rombo'. Pushing out remixes of The Kills, Robyn, MSTRKFT and The Crookers scribbled their distinctive style all over the scene and forced people to love them. 'Cornelius' is just what you would expect from a late 2008 EP offering from some of the best DJ's out of Italy (tied with Crookers?). To top it off, Bob Rifo compiled 'The Death of Cornelius', a musical reflection on the creation of the relatively mysteriously produced track (which Techijo went on to remix!). Check out what AsianDan had to say and listen to the overture here.

Kelevra is absolutely killing it at the moment. I pulled this one from Redthreat after they were kind enough to throw Kelevra's EP up earlier in the month. The EP features remixes from DJ BamBam and Kyle Watson and is a full banger. Not only that, but the UK madman put together an excellent Potty Mouth mixtape, 'Midnight - 6am' (Dec 2008). Killer track selection and Kelevras 'cant fake it' style makes it worth the transfer to CD for a residency in your car.

Track Listing somewhere around here <--

Honourable Mention:
A mention must go to just one more UK killer, Hijack, who as promised has completed weekly mixes for the last three weeks. His third installment came through two days ago and is one of the better mixtapes I have set on repeat. Surprising considering he's doing them weekly. Check out the original post here and grab the mixtape if you haven't already!

... once again the FridgeJet Monthly Top Three was sourced via Hype Machine entries.

Still Running On Time

The optimistic and challanging goal of throwing together an international quality mixtape every week turns out to be pretty easy for UK DJ/producer, Hijack. On his third instalment of the weekly mixtape series, Hijack throws out another great offering kicking stuff off with some nice Crookers I had hardly heard before and keeps kicking it from there. Check it out and thank him on his myspace!
